My first real mountainbike. A Specialized Hardrock 26" with Avid BB5 disc brakes. It was a great bike for my beginner skill level. Unfortunately my skills never got to outgrow it. Was stolen out of my driveway one night.
The only pic I have of this bike. Stollen soon after this.


Gitane Road Bike:
I bought this used Gitane Road Bike for commuting around my college town. It was old but worked great... for a while. Went through numerous secondhand group sets and wheels courtesy of the local bike graveyard. Sold it years later because mountainbikes are  more my thing.
Before: Unknown year Gitane Road Bike as I bought it.
After: Upgraded front wheel, new paint and chopped bars.

Crankset and chainrings ready for dinglespeed install. Singlespeed bikes are great but lack in versatility. Gear them low for climbing up a mountain or gear them high for top speed. You can't have both. I often found myself wishing for a two speed bike. A high speed for riding across town and a low speed for the trails. The trick is having those two speeds without using a chain tensioner or derailleur. The answer was dinglespeed.

Non-Standard Threads with Fusion 360: Schrader to Presta Valve Adapter

Last week I had a flat tire on my mountain bike. Patching the tube wasn't a problem, that was done in a few minutes. However, quickly airing up and re-seating my 29x3.0 tire was going to be a pain with only my small hand pump. To get around this pain I have an old high volume foot pump but it only fits on Schrader valves and my mountain bike uses Presta. Normally, I use a brass Presta to Schrader adapter but on that day I couldn't find it. (I still can't find it...) I ended up borrowing a plastic adapter for the job. This lack of an adapter made me think, "Why not 3D print a few of my own?"
